Lung Ching Dragon Well Tea - Premium Chinese Green Tea

One of China's most celebrated teas, Lung Ching: or Dragon Well, has been treasured for centuries. Pan-roasted by skilled artisans, it offers something distinctly different from steamed green teas: a warm, toasty character with an unmistakable smooth, nutty depth.

Produced using the traditional pan-firing technique in Zhejiang Province, Lung Ching's flat, jade-green leaves are hand-shaped in hot woks to create the distinctive sword-like appearance. This process halts oxidation and imparts a gentle roasted quality that sets Dragon Well apart from other green teas. The infusion is a pale golden-green with a fresh, inviting aroma and a full-bodied, nutty flavour that finishes clean and sweet. It can be steeped multiple times, with each infusion offering a subtly different expression of its character.

Why You'll Love It

  • Classic Chinese craftsmanship: Pan-roasted by hand in the traditional style of Zhejiang Province, one of China's most revered tea regions
  • Smooth and approachable: Nutty, clean flavour with none of the grassiness or astringency that some green teas carry
  • Versatile steeping: The quality leaf can be infused up to four times, each steeping yielding a distinct and enjoyable cup
  • Pure and simple: Single-ingredient green tea, nothing added, nothing removed

Origins & Character

Lung Ching produces a pale golden-green liquor with a gentle, fresh aroma and a warm, nutty character. The flavour is soft and full-bodied, more rounded than steamed Japanese-style green teas, with a natural sweetness on the finish. There is no bitterness when brewed correctly, making it an excellent introduction to the diversity of Chinese green tea.
