Red African Fire Scones
Made with Red African Fire Rooibos
Three ingredients and maximum flavour, our Red African Fire Rooibos-infused cream gives these lemonade scones a spiced, earthy warmth that makes them truly unforgettable.
Makes: 12 scones
Ingredients
- 3 cups self-raising flour
- ¾ cup lemonade
- ½ cup cream
- 1 Tbsp Red African Fire Rooibos
Method
- Pour cream and Red African Fire Rooibos into a saucepan and bring to the boil. Remove from heat and set aside for 30 minutes, or steep overnight for a more intense flavour. Strain if desired, remeasure and top up cream to ½ cup if needed.
- Sift flour into a large bowl. Add the infused cream and lemonade.
- Mix quickly with a knife to form a soft dough. Turn onto a floured board and knead lightly.
- Roll out to 2cm thickness and cut into 5cm rounds. Place close together on a greased baking tray.
- Brush tops with milk to glaze.
- Bake at 230°C for 10 minutes until well risen and golden. Best served warm and fresh.
